Dr. Charles Caplis is Board Certified with the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and is an Associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He is licensed in Mississippi, Louisiana and Illinois. He has been in private practice for over 10 years and has performed thousands of surgeries, giving his patients the ability to continue to live their best lives. He is compassionate and always concerned about the quality of care his patients receive.

Dr. Caplis was born and raised in the south. His mother hails from Vicksburg, Mississippi. Growing up, Dr. Caplis traveled throughout Mississippi, Texas and Louisiana playing competitive soccer, which led to playing collegiate soccer at Louisiana Tech University. He had several sports related injuries, which began his understanding of just how important the foot and ankle are to your health and abilities. He graduated with honors in the pre-medical honor society, Alpha Epsilon Delta, from Centenary College of Louisiana with a Bachelor of Science degree. He successfully finished his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine degree at Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University in North Chicago, IL in 2005.
During his podiatric medical school education, Dr. Caplis served as president of his class and held a leadership role within the sports medicine club. During that time, he also worked in the medical tents treating participants at the Chicago Marathon, Triathlon and the three-day Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Walk. He later completed a highly intense three-year podiatric medicine and surgical residency in Chicago, IL from 2005-2008, where he served as Chief Podiatric Surgery Resident from 2007-2008.
Dr. Caplis expanded his training to involve the latest in cosmetic techniques and procedures for the foot and ankle while studying with Dr. Suzanne Levine at the Institute Beaute’ in New York City. This included learning Botox in the foot for hyperhidrosis and Sculptra/collagen injections to replace the natural fat padding to the ball of the foot, among other techniques.
Dr. Caplis has traveled to San Salvador, El Salvador to perform surgery on children with clubfeet and adults with foot deformities who required specialized surgical intervention. He found the experience extremely rewarding and plans to return in the future.

He is a loving father who takes an active role with his son, Ethan. His passion for the arts has led him to become a voting board member of the St. Tammany Parish Commission on Cultural Affairs. He enjoys the active lifestyle that living in the South provides. He is true to his roots in providing Southern hospitality to all his patients and staff.

Dr. Eernisse attended William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine, where she completed her Doctorate in 1998. She received certification in foot surgery in 2002, and is the owner of Forest Med Podiatry in Justice, IL. She is a founder of Community Foot Health, a program that provides free foot care and distributes shoes and socks to Chicago’s homeless and uninsured populations.
As a practicing podiatrist, she relishes the opportunities to provide her patients with the medical attention they require. From new visits to continual care, Dr. Eernisse possesses the tools to treat her patients both conservatively and surgically, and ensure that they return to their everyday lives.
